Even though the calendar says fall, the weather here has been holding onto summer with a warm, golden grip. The sun is still high in the sky, and the days are perfect for sipping something cold and refreshing. That’s why I decided to make this Blueberry Lavender Lemonade—it’s the perfect in-between drink, capturing the bright, juicy flavor of summer blueberries with a hint of floral lavender that feels a little fancy and a little indulgent.

Whether you’re enjoying it on a sunny afternoon on your porch, serving it at a small gathering with friends, or just treating yourself after a long day, this lemonade hits all the right notes. Sweet, tangy, and lightly floral, it’s a drink that’s simple to make but feels special. I love using Monin lavender syrup for a consistent, easy flavor, but if you have culinary lavender on hand, that works beautifully too—just a gentle touch brings the lemonade to life.

This recipe is flexible, approachable, and perfect for the lingering warm days before the crisp fall air sets in. Plus, the deep purple of the blueberries makes it almost too pretty to drink—almost!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • 1–2 tablespoons lavender syrup (Monin works great) or 1/4 teaspoon culinary lavender
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice
  • Lemon slices and extra blueberries for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine blueberries, sugar, and 1 cup water. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the blueberries start to burst (about 5–7 minutes).
  2. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool. Strain if you prefer a smooth lemonade, or leave some solids for a rustic look.
  3. In a pitcher, combine the blueberry mixture with lemon juice, remaining 3 cups of cold water, and lavender syrup (or culinary lavender). Adjust sweetness and lavender flavor to taste.
  4. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and extra blueberries.

Tips & Variations:

  • Monin syrup makes it quick and consistent, but if using real lavender, steep gently in the sugar-water mixture to avoid a soapy flavor.
  • Swap lavender for mint for a different floral twist.
  • Make it sparkling by using sparkling water instead of still.
  • Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Even if fall is officially here, you can still sip summer in a glass. This Blueberry Lavender Lemonade is light, refreshing, and just the right amount of fancy to make any afternoon feel special. Give it a try, and let me know how you make it your own!
