Big news at G’s Homestead—we’re officially expanding the flock! This week we brought home 4 fluffy goslings and 2 adorable ducklings, and we’re in love already. 💛
With our new coop almost finished (seriously, it’s so close—blog post coming soon!), we felt like now was the perfect time to start adding to our feathered crew. These little ones will have plenty of space to grow and roam once everything is complete, but for now, they’re cozy in the brooder and settling in beautifully.

The goslings are already full of personality—curious, chatty, and not shy about making their presence known. It’s amazing how quickly they start to recognize our voices and come running when they hear us. The ducklings are a little more reserved (for now!), but just as sweet, always snuggling together or poking around for something interesting.
We’ve been talking about adding geese for a while now—not just because they’re adorable, but because they make great guardians for the flock. We’re hoping they’ll help keep an eye on things once they’re grown, especially with the open space we have here. Plus, watching ducks and geese waddle around the yard together is just the kind of peaceful chaos we love around here. These 6 already are the cutest little buddies and mesh together perfectly.
Right now, it’s all about the basics—warmth, good feed, clean water, and lots of love. But it won’t be long before they’re out in the sunshine and getting used to their new home.
